Letters to Philadelphia Society for Promoting Agriculture, 1817-1822.

Letter dated March 4, 1817 is addressed to James Mease concerning the effects of the cold winter on vegetation at his farm in Wayne County, Pa. Letter dated June 19, 1822 is addressed to Richard Peters regarding dams on the Schuylkill River and their effects on fish. He gives his observations on the varieties of fish in the Delaware River, the Susquehanna River and the Chesapeake Bay.
